Miley Ray Cyrus was born Destiny Hope Cyrus on November 23rd, 1992 in Franklin, Tennessee and raised in Thompson's Station, Tennessee to Tish Cyrus & Billy Ray Cyrus. Miley is the youngest of five brothers and sisters - two older siblings and a younger sister. The parents named their daughter Miley, in hopes to see her achieve a lot. Miley was changed to Smiley as a young girl, which she earned by being jovial. Her grandfather, a Democratic politician Ron Cyrus, was her paternal grandparent. Cyrus started her schooling in Heritage Elementary School. Cyrus relocated with her family to Toronto Canada around the age of eight. Cyrus' father Billy Ray was a part of the film Doc (2001). It was around this time that Cyrus determined that she wanted to play a part as well. For Doc (2001) in which she performed alongside her father. Tim Burton's Big Fish (2003), where she starred in the role of a lesser-known character, was also a success. The year 2005 saw Cyrus got the role of the lead in The Disney series Hannah Montana (2006), which follows a teenager who lives a double life as an aspiring pop singer. Her father was once again with the show. It became an instant success that soon sold out tours were announced, as well as the signing of merchandising contracts. Cyrus became an overnight teen phenomenon. Cyrus has appeared as a character in Hannah Montana (2006) and The Last Song (2010) with Demi Moore, went on into other parts.
